The Guanyin Figurine, or Quan Yin, is the personification of compassion and friendship and can hear the crying of every living being.

Also known as the goddess of forgiveness (Goddess of Mercy), she is a virgin goddess who protects women, is the lady of the sea and helps those who ask for her help and hears every prayer.

Guanyin holds a twig from the weeping willow in many depictions. We know the weeping willow for its trailing branches that hang down to the ground where raindrops drip like tears.

She represents the same energy as Maria and Tara.

Guanyin is an East Asian Bodhisattva associated with compassion and is venerated by Mahayana Buddhists. She is the female manifestation of Avalokistshava, the Buddha of Compassion. In addition, she is the "Goddess of Mercy".

The name Guanyin is short for Guanshiyin, meaning "[The One Who] Perceives all Sounds of the World".

Some Buddhists believe that, when one departs from this world, Quan Yin places them at the heart of a lotus, and sends them to the Pure Lands of Sukhāvatī.
