Place the incense on or in a suitable container such as a Jali Box or use an ash catcher.
Light the end of the incense until it catches. You can then blow it out so that it smolders.
Place the incense in a suitable ventilated area making sure to keep it away from flammable materials. The stick will burn furniture or curtains if they come in contact with it.
The ash form the incense stick can cause discolouration so be careful to place the incense so that the ash falls safely.
Soapstone—also known as Steatite—is a metamorphic rock that consists primarily of talc. Depending on the quarry from which it is sourced, this natural stone also contains varying amounts of other minerals such as micas, chlorite, amphiboles, quartz, magnesite, and carbonates.
