Tips for getting the most out of your Black Orchid Scented Tin Candle

Always trim the wick. If the wick is too tall the flame will be too tall and it will burn quicker. If it is too small on the other hand it will cause the candle to waste wax around the edge as it will not be hot enough to get that far.1 to 1.5cm is a good length but will depend on the candle size.

Do not have the candle burning in a draft. A calm flame will burn more evenly and with less wastage.

Keep your candles cold. A colder candle will burn slower.

When lighting burn for a good amount of time. The rule is that the top of the candle should be completely liquid for an even burn. That is at least one hour for every inch in diameter for a pillar candle.

However, don’t burn too long. If you burn a candle too long the wax can get too hot and burn off quicker. About four hours is the maximum amount of time.

A candle should be extinguished properly. If you don’t have a candle snuffer the best way is to place your index finger in front of the flame and blow. As a result the wax splash is minimised.

Finally, always burn a candle in a well ventilated area. Keep it out of reach of children and pets and never leave unattended.
