A Himilayan Salt Lamp cleans the air that we breathe via the same basic process as synthetic ionizing machines. However, these products look much better and cost much less. Heat salt using a bulb or flame and release negative ions into the air. Pollutants and allergens have positively charged ions for the most part. As a result, the negative ions bond with the positively charged ions of the pollutants and allergens.
Salt Lamps & Tea Lights have been laboratory proven to improve air quality and thus benefit health. It has positive effects upon breathing, sleeping, asthma & stress. When warmed the salt saturates the air with emitted negative ions. This reduces the amount of positive ions produced from computers and electrical appliances.
Salt lamps should be placed on a place mat or some other barrier to protect the surface that you put it on. Because it is salt, a small amount of liquid may leak onto the surface and will eat away at furniture varnish.
