Tracey O’Neill will be facilitating an eight week exploring meditation course with us starting Wednesday 25th September 7 – 8pm and  for 8 consecutive Wednesdays. In this blog we go into a bit more detail on the topic for the first evening’s meditation.

The first class is based on around nourishing our Heart Chakra or Anahata. When opened, it is one of the most powerful energy centers in your body. The Heart Chakra is responsible for love, relationships and self-acceptance.

Anahata or heart chakra is the fourth primary chakra, according to Hindu Yogic, Shakta and Buddhist Tantric traditions. In Sanskrit, anahata means “unhurt, unstruck, and unbeaten”. Anahata Nad refers to the Vedic concept of unstruck sound. Anahata is associated with balance, calmness, and serenity.

Begin by sitting in a comfortable position and close your eyes.

For just this moment, let go of your thoughts and the outside world.

Focus your attention on your spiritual heart center, in the middle of your chest, and be aware of your heart as a space.

When you touch the celestial in your heart, you will realize that the beauty of your soul is so pure, so vast and so devastating that you have no option but to merge with it. You have no option but to feel the rhythm of the universe in the rhythm of your heart.

The group will be discovering a different type of meditation each week but Tracey’s favourite is the heart meditation.

The heart enables us be better people, to love ourselves and to love others. It affects not only ourselves but those that are around us.
